The state has now recorded more than 2,000 deaths in connection with COVID-19.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 23 additional deaths in information it released Friday morning.
Calhoun has nine new cases this week.
Other numbers continue to show a reduction. The state daily positivity test rate was 4.66% Friday. That lower percentage came even though the state recorded more COVID-19 tests, 16,265, Thursday that it has in the past week. There are 905 newly confirmed cases.
Hospitalizations dipped to 519 in Fridayâs report. Thatâs the lowest number of hospitalizations since 510 were reported on Nov. 24. Hospitalizations have dropped each day since Jan. 19.
According to the state, more than 183,000 Mountain State residents have received an initial vaccination, more than 59,000 residents have been fully vaccinated.
