TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 1,139 New Cases, 29 Deaths

Overall COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia moved closer to 2,000 in Tuesday morning’s report from the state Department of Health and Human Resources.

The state confirmed 29 additional deaths taking the overall number over the last 10 months to 1,928.

The DHHR also confirmed 1,139 new cases of COVID-19. The daily positivity test rate increased to 7%. West Virginia recorded another drop in hospitalizations with total patients at 582, which was down 15 from Monday’s report.

The state reported Tuesday it has fully vaccinated 43,648 residents.

WV_DHHR reports as of January 26, 2021, there have been 1,857,255 total confirmatory laboratory results received for #COVID19, with 116,978 total cases and 1,928 total deaths.
