Calhoun could get money to upgrade the voting system.
County clerks would get money from a revolving loan fund if West Virginia gets up to 20 million dollars from the federal
government, according to Secretary of State Joe Manchin.
Manchin told the state Election Commission yesterday that the project could be funded under the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002.
The money could help counties replace ballot systems with computer touch-screen technology or similar, less error-prone
systems, he said.
Manchin plans to set up a revolving loan fund to help counties keep abreast of voting technology.
