Fifty-four of West Virginiaâs 55 counties were orange or red Saturday in the stateâs COVID-19 daily county alert system map.
The orange or red designation indicates high rates of infection or percent positive in the counties.
Twelve of the counties â Putnam, Kanawha, Roane, Calhoun, Fayette, Summers, Wyoming, McDowell, Lewis, Webster, Randolph and Tucker â were orange.
Clay County was gold in the daily map. The remaining 42 counties were all red.
This follows a significant realignment of the Harvard Medical Map by Gov. Jim Justice, which made most of WV counties green for a time, good to go.
