| One of Roane Counties longest running businesses has been sold to the Casto Funeral Homes chain.
The Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, in business since 1914, has been purchased by the Casto group, that has locations in Evans, Ravenswood and Mason WV.
In 1914, the Vandale Funeral Home, owned by Fred Vandale began on Main Street and was relocated to its current location on Beauty Street in 1929, formerly the Roane County Hospital and Lowe Hotel.
After the death of Fred Vandale, the funeral home was operated for many years by his son George Vandale, later to be purchased by Richard Taylor, known as the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home.
