| Thirty-two more coronavirus deaths were reported Thursday morning in West Virginia.
A teenager is among four new coronavirus deaths that were reported in Kanawha County on Thursday,
a 17-year-old boy, an 80-year-old man, 64-year-old woman and 58-year-old man have died from the virus, according to the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department. The deaths push the countyâs total to 170.
Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department reports four more deaths in the Wood County area are attributed to COVID. This makes 31 deaths in Wood County. Calhoun County has had no deaths to date from COVID. Wirt County has had one and Roane County is reported to have four deaths. Five have died in Pleasants County. Ritchie County has had six individuals pass from Covid.
Despite the state turning the Harvard COVID-19 map green, the revised map has only one green county - McDowell.
The West Virginia state Department of Health and Human Resources reports there have been 1,071 deaths since the pandemic started this year.
The DHHR also reported 1,636 new positive cases over the past 24 hours, with 21,832 total current active cases.
Hospitalizations increased from 766 Wednesday to 781 Thursday, including 206 people in intensive care and 84 on ventilators.
The overall positive test rate moved from 4.18% Wednesday to 4.23% Thursday. The daily positive test rate decreased from 10.27% Wednesday to 8.13% Thursday.
