WV COVID-19 SATURDAY: CALHOUN HAS TWO NEW CASES, 13 ACTIVE CASES FRIDAY

West Virginia added more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases again Saturday along with 19 new virus-related deaths, Calhoun added two more cases Saturday.

A report Friday from the MOVHD said there are 13 active cases in Calhoun.

More than one hundred students and staff are in quarantine after the coronavirus made its way through three schools in Monongalia County.

Twenty-four school systems in West Virginia will be on all-remote instruction next week, according to the COVID-19 School Alert Map released Saturday evening by the state Department of Education.

The addition of 1,118 new cases moves the state’s active total to 12,775, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The state’s death total from the virus is now 658.

Hospitalizations increased to 416, including 121 in intensive care and 54 people on ventilators.

The overall positive test rate moved to 3.45% while the daily positive test rate finished at 4.80%.
