LOGAN FELON - Logan County deputies said a convicted felon faces charges after a rifle and a safe that contained suspected methamphetamine and several thousand dollars in cash were found at a home.

Dallas Bryant, 59, of Chapmanville was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded after receiving a tip to a home on Meadow Ridge Drive in Chapmanville. They spoke to Bryant and found two other males inside the residence.

After searching the home, they discovered a safe in a bedroom that contained a baggy with a crystal-like substance that appeared to be meth and more than $3,200 cash, the news release said. A rifle also was found in the home.

Deputies said a criminal background check found that Bryant was convicted of a felony in 2015 for delivery of a controlled substance.

Bryant was taken into custody and was taken to Southwestern Regional Jail, where he was being held on a $13,000 bond.
