| ARMED ROBBERY - Multiple law enforcement agencies are working to locate a suspect in a robbery at the Summit Bank in Salem on Tuesday.
According to the Harrison County 911 Communication Center, law enforcement agencies were informed of a reported robbery at 8:08 a.m. on Tuesday at the Summit Bank in Salem.
An unknown male individual, armed with a handgun, demanded money, according to the communication center.
A witness said that when she attempted to enter the bank through the back door a man came out and held a gun to her back .
The witness then stated that the male told her to start âzip-tyingâ individuals inside the bank, but when the witness took to long to do so, the male began to do so himself.
After everyone was restrained, the male then held a gun to another individual inside of the bank and demanded car keys, which he took and then fled the scene in the vehicle, according to the witness.
The Salem Police Department, as well as the Harrison County Sheriffâs Department, arrived on scene, but the individual had already fled, communication center officials said.
The vehicle was later found on Cherry Camp Road in Salem, but the individual was not in it, according to the witness.
Law enforcement is currently on the lookout for the individual, and according to Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny, the male got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
PRESTON MURDERS - A man has been charged with murder after a verbal altercation with another man at an apartment in Preston County.
On Nov. 16, troopers with the Kingwood detachment of the West Virginia State Police were dispatched to a shooting complaint at a residence at 8570 North Preston Highway, Apartment B in Albright, according to a criminal complaint.
When troopers arrived on scene at 9:14 p.m., they âobserved Ryan Sines, of Friendsville, Maryland, deceasedâ and âlaying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds,â and troopers also found âtwo pistols inside the victimâs clothingâ as well as âa knife laying on the ground above his headâ and âa machete on the ground beside his leg,â troopers said.
Troopers spoke to Andrew Prudnick, 28, of Albright, who claimed âhe shot the victim during a verbal altercation that was not physical,â and that âhe shot the victim while [Prudnickâs] hand was in his pocket,â according to the complaint.
Troopers were also told that the pistols found on Sinesâ person were Prudnickâs; Prudnick also never stated whether or not Sines presented a weapon during the altercation, troopers said, and after Prudnick was advised of his Miranda rights, he ârefused to answer questions without a lawyer present.â
Troopers spoke to a woman who is Prudnickâs girlfriend and Sinesâ cousin and learned that Sines had come with her to get her belongings. Prudnick then showed up at the apartment because he knew Sines was there and did not want him to be, according to the complaint.
Troopers said they found no evidence that Sines had pulled a weapon on Prudnick.
Prudnick has been charged with second degree murder. He is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
