ROARING WV COVID-19: 1,153 NEW CASES SATURDAY - Calhoun Has Seven Or More Active Cases

West Virginia reached a new daily high in coronavirus cases Saturday morning with the addition of 1,153 positive tests.

The active case total climbed to 9,141 with the new cases, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The overall positive test rate jumped from 3.14% to 3.20% after a 5.43% daily positive test rate.

The state also confirmed nine virus-related deaths, pushing the death toll to 574.

There are 344 residents hospitalized with the virus in the Mountain State, including 104 in intensive care and 34 people on ventilators.

Fourth positive COVID-19 cases reported in Kanawha County Clerks Office, while Kanawha County Assessor’s office extends closure for two weeks due to COVID-19.
