The Legacy Market, a coffee shop, on the 200 block of Church Street in Spencer, caught fire about 7 a.m this morning, across the street from the Roane Courthouse.
Damage appears to have spread from the back of business building to other buildings stretching to the Wendy's parking lot.
Multiple regional fire departments responded to the blaze.
While the fire was brought under control, the buildings continued to burn Monday morning.
Officials at the scene said residents were forced out of four apartments on the upper floor of the building next to Legacy Market and some adjacent businesses received water and smoke damage.
