TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 213 New Cases,Five Deaths

Five additional West Virginians have died from complications of COVID-19 as of Tuesday morning.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported an 89-year-old man from Harrison County, a 50-year-old woman from Fayette County, a 66-year-old man from Mercer County, an 82-year-old woman from Kanawha County and a 72-year-old man from Kanawha County have died.

Morgantown bar and restaurant owners have filed a suit against Gov. Jim Justice for closing them down.

On Tuesday, the DHHR also reported 213 new positive cases in the state, for a total of 14,384.

There are now 3,543 active cases in the Mountain State.

The daily positive rate is 4.78% and the cumulative positive rate is 2.75%.
