Mrs. Kelli Whytsell
Calhoun County Schools
Superintendent
Saturday, Sept. 12th
Good Evening,
Calhoun County had a very successful start to the school year. The administrators, teachers, and service personnel were very excited to see our students. The students received some new equipment to use this year. Each in-person student received a laptop with a bookbag or an I-pad to carry it in.
Each virtual student received a laptop or I-pad in which to do their virtual lessons. We have additional laptops ordered and hope to have them in soon. When those arrive, we will be switching out older laptops for the new ones. Please be patient with us as we are working very hard to get everyone the technology they need.
Calhoun County has been given the designation ofYELLOW, on the WVDE School Re-Entry map. We are very happy to be able to see our students again this week. We will continue with the staggered schedule that has the following grades attending:
Preschool will not be starting until September 21. All students will have remote lessons to do when not in school.
  Â
With the designation of YELLOW, we have additional guidelines that we will be following. Those guidelines are students in grades 5-12 will be required to wear a face mask at all times, and only parents can attend extracurricular games.
These guidelines are set by WVDE and WVSSAC. Please help us keep our students in school by wearing a mask when you go out.
