Harold Ray Pence, 71, of Charleston, died Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, St. Albans, after an extended illness.

He was born February 27, 1949 at Charleston, the son of the late Roy Herby and Lillie Zena Batten Pence.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Abigail Bonham; three brothers, Roland D., Wilford W. and Leslie Carl Pence.

Harold was a retired employee of the Ammar Parking Systems, a former employee of Goodwill and a former retail sales clerk. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and a lifelong resident of Kanawha County.

Survivors include one sister, Opal Shamblin of Charleston; two brothers, Paul D. Pence of Murfreesboro TN and Roy H. Pence, Jr. of Charleston; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Robert Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service.
