A flash flood watch is in effect across the Tri-State area through Thursday evening.
In West Virginia, this includes Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Wayne, Mason, Jackson, Wood, Pleasants, Tyler, Lincoln, Roane, Wirt, Calhoun, Ritchie, Doddridge, Mingo, Logan, Boone, Clay, Braxton, Gilmer, Lewis and Harrison counties.
The watch is in effect through about 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service says multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms could bring periods of heavy rain. Rainfall of one to two inches is expected with higher amounts where thunderstorms pass repeatedly.
With the ground being saturated in many areas, the is an increased chance of flash flooding in small creeks and streams. |
