Another 460 members of West Virginia's National Guard were called to active duty to assist in the nation's buildup for a
possible war with Iraq. They will be reporting today.
The troops will serve in either Operation Noble Eagle providing security within the US or Operation Enduring Freedom in the
Gulf.
The 111th Engineer Group of St. Albans is a military command unit.
The mission of the 119th Engineer Company of Clarksburg and Buckhannon is to support combat engineering operations
with manned construction equipment.
Members of the 152nd Military Police Detachment of Moorefield are trained to conduct military police surveillance
operations and assist in military force-protection.
The mission of the 1257th Transportation Company of Huntington mission is to provide transportation for cargo and military
personnel.
The U.S. Department of Defense Web site, 3,051 West Virginia guardsmen and reservists have been called to active duty,
although other sources have indicated more have been activated. Nationwide, 188,592 guardsmen and reservists have been
