Della J. "Cricket" Southall, 73, of Spencer, died Saturday, August 29, 2020, at CAMC â General Hospital, Charleston, following a sudden illness.
She was born March 24, 1947 at Spencer, the daughter of the late Orville Lee and Eva Waggoner Lowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Southall in 2016; four half-brothers and five half-sisters.
Survivors include one son, James Gregory Southall of Spencer; two grandchildren, Brittini Leigh Southall and Alexis Paige Southall; two great grandchildren, Damian Southall and Malice Blair Southall; sister, Odie Matics of Fredericksburg VA; sister-in-law, Melda Fore of Spencer.
Cricket was a former employee of Kellwood Corp., Spencer, the Roane County COA and the Roane County EMS. She attended the Breakthrough Baptist Church, Spencer.
Her pastimes were dancing and shopping.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1 at the Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain, with Pastor Philip Linger officiating.
The family will receive friends at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until noon, when the funeral procession will leave to go to the cemetery.
