West Virginia records new daily high in coronavirus-related deaths, hospitalizations.
State health officials confirmed 10 new coronavirus-related deaths Saturday morning in West Virginia.
It was the highest number of deaths in WV this week, 31.
The deaths include a 40-year old man from Kanawha County, a 70-year old woman from Taylor County, an 86-year old man from Logan County, a 52-year old man from Wayne County, a 73-year old man from Cabell County, a 77-year old woman from Grant County, a 42-year old woman from Kanawha County, a 71-year old man from Monroe County, a 77-year old man from Monroe Count and an 88-year old woman from Nicholas County, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
The state has now had 212 deaths related to the virus.
Officials also added 143 new COVID-19 cases, raising West Virginiaâs active case total to 1,820. The overall positive test rate remained at 2.34% while the daily positive test rate for the day came in at 2.47%.
There are currently 151 people hospitalized with the virus, including 49 in intensive care and 23 on a ventilator.

Meanwhile, in the state's color-coded map, Monroe County moved to red. Fayette and Wyoming counties joined Kanawha, Logan and Mingo counties in orange.
At least 7,935 West Virginians have recovered from the virus.
