LATEST: WV COVID-19 OUTBREAKS AT SENIOR CENTERS, JAILS AND CHURCHES

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice gave an update Monday on the latest coronavirus outbreaks at senior and correctional facilities and churches in the state.

There are currently 31 outbreaks at long-term care facilities in the state. The worst situations are in Grant County at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center; in Kanawha County at the Cedar Ridge Center and Marmet Nursing Home; in Logan County at Trinity Health Care; in Mercer County at Princeton Health Care; in Monroe County at the Springfield Center; in Raleigh County at the Pine Ridge Lodge Center; and in Taylor County at the Rosewood Nursing Home.

Three inmates and seven employees have tested positive at Mount Olive Correctional Complex in Fayette County. He said 60 inmates and four employees have tested positive at the South Central Regional Jail in Kanawha County and the facility is on lockdown.

The governor said there are currently virus outbreaks at churches in three counties – Cabell, Wood and Wyoming – with a total of 33 cases.
