West Virginia health officials reported another coronavirus-related death, bringing stateâs death total associated with the virus to 179.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed in a news release Monday morning the death of a 59-year-old man from Lincoln County.
DHHR officials reported the state added 40 new coronavirus cases, bringing overall total to 9,312. Active cases were up 12 from Sunday and were listed at a total of 1,748.
More than 398,000 tests have been conducted. The stateâs overall positive test rate remained at 2.34%. The daily positive test rate climbed slightly and was at 1.70%.
Hospitalizations were up two and were at 141, with 47 in intensive care and 23 on a ventilator. Recoveries remained unchanged from Saturday and were at 7,385.
