Because of poor internet connectivity in most of rural West Virginia, a state funded initiative to create wi-fi hot spots around the Mountain State will include schools, libraries and state parks.
The hot-spots will allow school children to drive to those areas by car or on school buses to get access.
Calhoun Superintendent of Schools Kelli Whytsell said the hot spots will be located at Calhoun Middle-High School, Arnoldsburg Elementary, Pleasant Hill Elementary and Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.
Whytsell said she expects the hot spots to be operational by Sept. 8.
