West Virginiaâs new positive cases increased by 143 Thursday morning and active cases were up 57.
Meanwhile, the stateâs overall percentage of positive cases climbed from 2.39% to 2.40%, according to the latest statistics from the state Department of Health and Human Resources. The daily positive test rate was at 3.51%.
The state had a total of 8,151 positive coronavirus cases as of 10 a.m.
No new deaths were reported, and the death total remained at 153.
South Central Regional Jail has 26 active COVID-19 cases among inmates.
Taylor County health officials say a total of four cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at a nursing home.
Grafton Taylor County Health Department officials said in a news release that two residents and two staff members at Rosewood Nursing Home have tested positive for the virus.
Hospitalizations declined by seven and were listed Wednesday at 128, with 46 in intensive care and 16 on a ventilator. Recoveries increased by 85 and were listed at 6,045.
