TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT: SEVEN NEW DEATHS, 253 NEW CASES SINCE MONDAY

Seven new coronavirus deaths were reported Tuesday morning in West Virginia by the state Department of Health and Human Resources.

The seven new deaths raises the state's COVID-19 death toll to 124.

The DHHR reports a 70-year-old man from Preston County, a 55-year-old woman from Taylor County, a 68-year-old woman from Kanawha County, a 73-year-old man from Marshall County, a 92-year-old man from Grant County, a 43-year-old man from Mingo County, and a 91-year-old man from Wood County have all died from the virus.

The state is at a total of 7,051 cases, adding 253 since Monday. The cumulative positive testing rate is 2.36% with a daily rate of 2.41%.

As of Tuesday, there are 1,865 active cases in the state. There have been 5,062 recoveries.
