West Virginiaâs coronavirus numbers continued to jump with 119 new positive cases reported Monday morning and 98 more active cases.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources said in a news release the state had a total of 6,793 total virus cases as of 10 a.m. Active cases climbed and were reported at 1,938.
The stateâs total positive test rate also continued to rise and was at 2.36% with more than 294,000 tests conducted. The daily positive percentage rate was at 3.18%.
Hospitalizations also were up, with 116 reported, 50 being treated in intensive care and 17 on a ventilator. According to the DHHRâs website, 4,918 have recovered from the virus.
Recent outbreaks have caused county courthouses to be closed, with outbreaks in two hospitals with staff and patients.
