The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a
Flash Flood Warning about 4:30 p.m. Thursday for
Northwestern Roane County in central West Virginia,
Calhoun County,
Southwestern Ritchie County and parts of Wirt until 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A number of streams in Calhoun out of banks.
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
The initial warning was issued at 3 p.m.
There is a flash flood watch out for the area through Friday morning.
