PM MONDAY: 100 NEW WV COVID-19 CASES

The number of new coronavirus cases in West Virginia rose another 62 cases Monday afternoon with a daily total of 100 cases, the state Department of Health and Human Resources said.

The Raleigh County Judicial Annex will be closed for the rest of the week after three employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The DHHR said in a news release that the state had a total of 5,142 cases as of 5 p.m.

Active cases were listed at 1,576, up seven from Monday morning’s report.

More than 234,000 tests have been conducted, and the overall positive test rate was at 2.19%. The daily positive rate was at 4.88%.

Currently, there are 77 hospitalized with 33 in intensive care and 17 on a ventilator.
