PM SATURDAY: 139 NEW COVID-19 WV CASES

State health officials confirmed 28 more COVID-19 tests Saturday evening, raising the daily total to 139 in West Virginia.

The number of active cases in the state dropped to 1,486 as 41 more West Virginians recovered from the virus, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ 5 p.m. update.

West Virginia’s overall positive test rate remained at 2.17% in the evening update while the daily positive test rate finished at 2.48%.

There are currently 74 people hospitalized with the virus, including 33 in intensive care and 16 on ventilators.

The new cases bring the state’s total to 4,922 while recoveries sit at 3,336.

No new deaths were reported Saturday.
