The Mountain State recorded the 98th death related to the coronavirus today with the death of a 77-year-old man from Wood County.
Total new WV cases Wednesday is 150.
Dr. Sherri Young, health officer and executive director of Kanawha-Charleston Health Department says more than 20 positive COVID-19 cases have been linked to the North Charleston Apostolic Church.
âAt this time there are 20 people who tested positive within the church. But that affects three different counties so not all of those are within Kanawha County,â Young said.
A three year old in Logan County has tested positive.
Confirmed coronavirus cases are rising in 40 of 50 states, several lack acute care beds.
As of 5 p.m., July 15, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reports 4,557 total COVID-19 cases and 2,995 recoveries. There are currently 1,371 active cases in the state.
