Leonard F. Ramsey (Dick Ramsey) 83, of Reedy WV, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, after an extended illness.
He was born September 18, 1936, in Kanawha County, the son of the late Lonnie and Merla Wilson Ramsey; one of 12 children.
Leonard was a loving husband, father and grandfather. For most of his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, spending time with family and telling stories.
Leonard was a talented drywall finisher and was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 970, Charleston. He was also an Army veteran, stationed in South Korea, where he was recognized for his marksman skills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Ramsey; daughter, Tammy Ramsey; step great grandson, Alex Miller.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, DeAnna and Wayne Miller of Reedy and Shawn Ramsey of Raleigh, N.C.; a granddaughter, Jordan (Tim Daniels) Miller of Parkersburg; two step grandsons, Sean (April) Miller of Spencer and Derek Miller of North Carolina; five step great granddaughters; his beloved dog, BayBay.
No memorial service is planned at this time.
