GRADUATION 2020
Eighty-five, the 96th graduating class of Calhoun High School came forward to get their diplomas Friday.
The graduation was conducted with lots of rules and guidelines related to the world-wide pandemic of the Coronavirus, with the nation's schools closed since March and as the virus is rebounding across America.
Perhaps this class faced the most disruptive event since the original school was destroyed by fire in 1942, when classes were held in buildings and houses to get the graduates through.
It would be fair to say it is not a pleasant time for graduates going into the world, with the country held at bay by the virus and politically divided over racism.
We must be hopeful that the newest generation will have what it takes to work toward solutions and keep the American Dream.
