Makayla Brooke Smith, graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia Wesleyan College on May 2, 2020, during a virtual ceremony. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Human Biology. She received the Developing Clinician Award in Exercise Science for being the top student in her field of study, graduating with a 3.96 GPA.
She is the daughter of Randal and Kandas Smith of Millstone, Calhoun County.
During her time at Wesleyan she served as President of The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success and was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi.
Makayla has been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at West Virginia University, where she will begin classes in June.
