Forrest Brown "Buck" Kirby, 85, of Joker, died Saturday, March 3,
2001 at Camden-Clark
Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Calhoun County, October 3, 1915,
the son of the late
R. E. and Mary A. Adams Kirby. He is survived by an only son, Calhoun
County Clerk Richard
Kirby, and his daughter-in-law Karen of Lemuel's Run.
Kirby was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II having served with
Company C of the 355th
Engineers. He was an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop #39 of
Grantsville and
was a member of the Brooksville Baptist Church. He was retired from
Hardman Supply
Company in Spencer.
In addition to his son and daughter-in-law, he is survived by his
wife of 61 years, Opal Mae
Parrill Kirby.
Also a grandson, Matt; three brothers, Cleo of Parkersburg, Victor of
Spencer and Wilbert of
Joker; sister, Eula Nelson of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Boyd and Delbert Kirby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stump Funeral
Home in Grantsville,
the Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Joker
Cemetery. Friends may call at
the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
