| Dale L. Murray, 72, of Palestine WV, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
The son of the late Gilbert and Bertha Flesher Murray, he was born in Sandyville WV, and graduated from Gilmore High School in 1965.
He worked for an electrical labor union erecting towers and later farmed. He was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church in Sandyville. Due to hearing loss which made it difficult to hear church services, he didnât regularly attend church but loved going to revivals and listening to the singing. He enjoyed puzzles, gardening, telling jokes, watching sports particularly any WVU sport and playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Hill Murray; children, Rona (Alan) Atkinson, Dale (Beth Johnson) Murray, Bradley (Elizabeth Justice) Murray and Abigail (Jeremy) Kerby; grandchildren Derek Murray, Hannah Murray, Audrey Justice and Analeigh Kerby; and siblings Delmer Murray, Elmer (Freda) Murray, Dannie (Linda) Murray, Donzal (Rosellia) Murray and Dwight (Deloris) Murray and his faithful farm companions Tunechi and Myah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry.
Visitation will be Monday, June 22 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. the time of service, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth WV. Interment will be in the Independence Cemetery in Sandyville WV.
