West Virginiaâs death total from the coronavirus is now at 86 with the death of a Mineral County man.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed the death of the 50-year-old man in a news release Thursday.
More than a dozen states are experiencing new COVID-19 highs, with come states utilizing nearly all their hospital beds.
A third case of COVID-19 announced for Calhoun is now being vetted by the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department.
At least four WV churches are now experiencing outbreaks.
There are 24 new WV cases reported by Thursday PM.
DHHR officials said the stateâs positive virus total increased 24 cases with a total of 2,217 as of 5 p.m.
Of the stateâs positive cases, 2,141 are confirmed and 76 are probable. There have been 1,548 recoveries, and there are currently 583 active cases.
Currently, there are 38 hospitalizations with eight in intensive care and two on ventilators.
More than 122,600 tests have been conducted, and the stateâs positive test rate was at 1.81%.
