PM FRIDAY - Five Covid-19 Deaths In WV

Two more COVID-19 deaths were reported Friday afternoon in West Virginia, bringing the number of deaths for the day to five.

State Department of Health Human Resources officials confirmed in a news release the deaths of a 75-year-old man from Berkeley County and an 84-year-old woman from Pendleton County.

Earlier in the day, the DHHR confirmed three other deaths - an 82-year-old woman, an 88-year-old man and a 52-year-old man. All of those residents werel from Jefferson County.

Friday’s deaths bring the state’s death total from the virus to 84.

Meanwhile, the number of virus cases increased to 17 on Friday, with a total now of 2,119. The state’s positive test rate is at 1.95%.
