Michael E. "Mike" O'Brien, 62, of Spencer, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at home, after an extended illness.
He was born May 8, 1958, at Spencer, the son of the late Romie G. and Clara Belle Bullis O'Brien.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia; brothers, Roger "Jake", Stanley, Benny, Earl, Romie, Jr., Robert, Ronnie, Randall and Larry O'Brien.
On April 26, 1980, he was united in marriage to Marsha Kay Webb, at Clover, W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, of 40 years, Marsha; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and April O'Brien of Morgantown; brother, Dean O'Brien of Spencer; sisters, Ethel O'Brien of Cape Coral, Fla., Nancy Butler of Hartville, Ohio, Gloria Lively of Fayetteville, Paulette Ayd of Parkville, Md. and Teresa Mitchell of Spencer.
Mike was an employee of Viking Well Service, Sissonville. He was a Christian and a member of the People's Baptist Church, Reedy. Also, he was an avid Mountaineer football fan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Darin Cale, the Rev. Shane Greathouse, the Rev. Daniel Whited and Dustin O'Brien speaking.
