Ricky Allen May, 68, of Spencer, received his angel wings May 14, 2020, after an extended illness.
He was born October 11, 1951 at Spencer, the son of the late Burl and Mae P. McGraw May.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Jennings "Butch" May, Phyllis Kasserman and Garry May; and son-in-law, Allen D. Smith, II.
Rick was a retired heavy equipment operator and a former member of the I.U.O.E., Local 132, Charleston. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Church of the Living God, Spencer. His pastimes included hunting, fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
On January 2, 1979, at Spencer, he was united in marriage to Roseann M. Tanner.
Survivors include his wife, of 41 years, Roseann; daughters, Shawna (James) Good of Spencer and Jana Smith also of Spencer; three grandchildren, Stephanie Burdette, Jamie Good and Shayna Good; three great grandchildren, Dixie Burdette, Huntleigh Burdette and Oaklynn Good; siblings, Jane (Darrell) Lupardus of Gandeeville, Dick (Doretta) May of Spencer, Vickie (John) Blouir of Canton, Ohio and Tim May of Clover; several beloved nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside memorial service is planned for a later date at Hodam Cemetery, Spencer, with Pastor John Cummings officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard.
