SPENCER, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) â For people stuck in the hospital right now, new restrictions limiting visitors have made it very difficult and very lonely.
Thursday, long-term care patients at Roane General Hospital got a nice pick-me-up.
"We haven't forgot you. Never!" shouted one woman from a car.
The hospital in Spencer held a beep-and-wave parade.
The families still had to keep a safe social distance as they drove by, but they at least got to see and cheer up relatives without a glass window in the way.
Firefighters driving their firetrucks joined the families trying to help bridge the isolation created by the COVID-19 threat to especially vulnerable West Virginians. |
