FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur across the watch area this afternoon and evening. These storms will have the potential to produce one to two inches of rain over a short amount of time, with isolated higher amounts possible. The combination of this expected rainfall, along with already wet soils from late April rainfall will lead to the potential for flash flooding to occur.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. |
