WV HAS 15 NEW CASES OF COVID-19

A Putnam County man has died from COVID-19-related causes, bringing the state’s overall virus death total to 47.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed in a news release Friday that a 97-old-man from Putnam County has died from the virus.

Meanwhile, the state’s total number of positive cases climbed 15, with the overall number at 1,151 as of 5 p.m. The state’s positive test result rate remained below 3% for the fifth consecutive day at 2.45%.

According to the DHHR’s website, 572 people have recovered from the virus. There are 76 hospitalized, with 15 on a ventilator in intensive care and 14 in ICU.

More than 47,000 people have been tested.
