West Virginia topped the 1,000-mark Friday afternoon for an overall total of positive COVID-19 cases.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported that the state had a total of 1,010 positive virus cases as of 5 p.m. Earlier in the day, the state reported the state had 988 cases.
West Virginiaâs death toll from the virus remained at 32.
More than 32,400 tests have been conducted with a positive test result rate of 3.1 percent.
The DHHR reported that 439 people have recovered. Meanwhile, 97 are hospitalized with 17 in the intensive care unit.
