AM MONDAY: FOUR NEW COVID-19 DEATHS REPORTED - Roane Has 3rd Case Reported

Four new COVID-19 deaths have been reported in West Virginia Monday, bringing the overall death total to 24, state health officials said.

The additional four deaths include an 85-year old female from Monongalia County, a 78-year old female, a 79-year old female and a 95-year old female, all from Jackson County, according to a news release Monday morning from the DHHR.

“It is with great sadness that we announce more lives lost to this pandemic,” said Bill Crouch, cabinet secretary of DHHR. “Our sympathies and thoughts go out to these families.”

Meanwhile, the number of positive coronavirus cases increased to 902 – up 12 cases from over the weekend.

The DHHR said dlays may be experienced with the reporting of cases and deaths from the local health department to the state health department.
