FRIDAY PM: WV COVID-19 REPORT Death Total 16

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed three additional deaths and 21 new cases of coronavirus in West Virginia in its Friday afternoon report, bringing the statewide death total to 16 and the positive total case count to 775.

The release from the DHHR stated that as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, a total of 19,088 laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 775 positive, 18,313 negative and 16 deaths.

The additional three deaths are an 85-year old woman from Wood County and a 74-year old woman and 91-year old woman, both from Wayne County, the release said.
