Two SCAT members, Zach Bailey and Ryan Bremar attended the RAZE Train Conference at Flatwoods, WV, February 2, 3 and 4.

The conference was to educate West Virginia youth as RAZE Crew leaders, to spread the word that Big Tobacco's lies aren't welcome in West Virginia anymore.

Zach and Ryan attended workshops in developing "Commotions," anti tobacco protests, "Do It In 5 Process," Team Building, RAZE-ON 2003. Developing and Conducting Presentations, Program Reporting, Alternatives to Suspension, and media.

Those attending the conference are expected to go back into their communities and schools and perform "Commotions," getting the attention of others and attracting more teens to join the RAZE movement.

The youth are spreading the word that they are too smart to accept the industry tactics and are doing something about it, challenging others to join their fight.

RAZE is a West Virginia youth anti-tobacco movement created by youth for youth, to tear down the lies of tobacco companies. You may have seen their commercials on TV, with teens over a rooftop to tear down Big Tobacco lies. Mike Yankavitch in a school hallway and another group of youth asking, "Where do you find a RAZE? If you haven't seen the new spots, you can check them out at www.razewv.com

"If you haven't seen this sign, or if you have and wondered what it was, then look out...here comes the WV Teens in high gear, tearing down the lies of Big Tobacco. Tobacco use is not the cool thing to do anymore, the truth is out there. It destroys looks, takes your money, makes you sick and eventually kills. The youth of WV are doing something about it," says Zach Bailey, one of Calhoun's Crew Leaders.
