Gary (Pete) Burrows, 72, lost his hard-fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia April 5, 2020 at Cedar Grove PCH.
He was born May 17, 1947 to the late Oma (Richards) and Hollie Burrows.
Gary graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1966. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and worked at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital for 38 years as Assistant Engineer. Upon retirement, he was one of the founding members of the Old Guys Breakfast Club at Mary Bâs.
Pete, as he was known to family and friends, loved telling stories, hunting (especially with his sons and grandchildren) and watching the Mountaineers.
His favorite pastime was mowing and working on his Gravely tractors.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sherry (Parsons) Burrows, children Patrick (Vicki) of Barboursville; Mitch (Cindy) of Mineral Wells and Heather Sinnett of Belpre, OH. Grandchildren Seth and Grant Burrows, Hollie, Cole and Clay Burrows, Eric and Reed Sinnett. Also surviving are siblings Shirley Haught; Jean (Lester) Jones; Larry (Jeanette) Burrows along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet Davidson, infant sister Pamela, brother Bobby Burrows, infant brother Richard Dean, niece Teresa Davidson, brother-in-law Roy Davidson and a special sister-in-law Sandy (Sis) Kimble.
He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Braley Care Homes, Cedar Grove PCH, and Amedysis Hospice for their care and compassion.
Due to current health concerns, private services will be held by the immediate family at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. |
