Roy Lee Pursley, 83, Mt. Zion, has died.
He was a man of the sod and woods, but more importantly he was a good neighbor and a veteran of the Korean war, having duty in the DMZ, working in communications.
He worked at Ford Motor Company in Ohio, owned and operated, along with his wife and brother, a long-distance trucking company hauling coast to coast.
He owned and operated, along with his wife, Pursleyâs Furniture and Appliance for many years in Grantsville and retired from the Department of Highways as Assistant Superintendent with 25 years of service.
He also drove bus for Committee on Aging for several years. Roy was an avid hunter who loved being in the woods and hunting with his friends.
A private family service will be conducted by Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
