U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $13,461,596 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for health centers across West Virginia.
Regionally, $577,854 was awarded Wirt County Health Service Association.
“This funding is especially critical on the heels of the announcement about the closure of Fairmont Regional Medical Center (and other WV hospitals), across our state and to ensure that rural communities continue to have access to close, reliable healthcare." said Senator Manchin.
“Many communities throughout West Virginia depend on their local community health centers as their primary source of accessible heath care,” said Senator Capito.
