| Gary Billings Spears, 70, of Spencer WV died Saturday, February 8, 2020, at River Oaks in Clarksburg, W.Va.
He was born September 6, 1949, at Billings WV the son of the late Earl Spears and Velda Greathouse Spears Tyree.
Gary was a retired employee of McKechnie Vehicle Components, Prosperity, S.C. He was an Army veteran. His pastimes included hunting, fishing and the outdoors; playing guitar, yard golf and gardening.
Survivors include his children, Lisa Webb, Michael Spears and Stacy Spears; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Spears; two uncles, who were like brothers to him, Phil Greathouse and Ray Greathouse.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Hodam Cemetery, Spencer. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral.
