The flash flood watch is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning for Kanawha, Putnam, Lincoln, Tyler, Wood, Pleasants, Cabell, Jackson, Wayne, Mason, Roane, Wirt, Calhoun, Ritchie, Doddridge, Mingo, Logan, Boone, Clay, Braxton, Gilmer, Lewis, Harrison, Taylor, McDowell, Wyoming, Upshur, Barbour, Raleigh, Nicholas, Webster, Pocahontas and Randolph counties in West Virginia.
