A man accused of stealing more than $3,000 from a video lottery business was placed on probation and ordered to apply to drug court, while a woman police were looking for in connection with the crime has finally been captured.
Quentin Curtis Griffin, 23, of Arnoldsburg pled guilty to grand larceny and conspiracy in October.
He returned to Roane Circuit Court Friday for sentencing, following a presentence investigation by a probation officer.
Judge Anita Ashley could have sentenced him to a maximum of 2-to-15 years in prison, but instead placed him on three years probation and ordered him to apply to the drug court program.
The charges allege he stole over $3,000 from a safe at Amber's Hot Spot II, on the Arnoldsburg Road east of Spencer, in July of last year.
A second suspect in the case indicted with Griffin last year was captured earlier this month.
April Mae Rogers, 41, of Spencer, was an employee at the business at the time of the theft.
Rogers initially told police Griffin had stolen her car and fled. Police said that story did not hold up after a security camera at an Arnoldsburg convenience store showed the two in the same car after the late-night robbery.
Rogers has been held at the Central Regional Jail since Jan. 6, with bond set at $50,000.
